I’m a little late with this but here goes…

Shroud of Bereavement’s new album, Alone Beside Her, or all about me as I like to call it, is finally out. I play some of the acoustic guitar parts in the song Communion.

Emperor

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

After months of waiting I made the long awaited journey to see Emperor in NYC. I must say it was one of the best shows ever!

Me, Dan, Kelly, Joe and Serge took a six hour car trip and got a hotel for the night.

Emperor played for about an hour and a half but it went by much quicker then that. The sound was awesome and their set was killer, despite the fact that Samoth was not there, due to the fact he was unable to enter the country.

It was a great venue, smaller then I expected. The drinks cost outrageous amounts of money and in the ladies room there was this women who handed us towels and turned the water on for us.

The rest of the evening was less then fabulous for us. Aside from the fifty dollar poster, we also brought back some very sketchy people to the hotel room with us. Other then that it was a great time.

By the time we picked up Winter and got home I though my breasts were going to explode with milk. I don’t know how I survived the ride home, but I did and it was worth every minute.

I’m so glad I went. This was one of the best shows I’ve been to a long time.

I’m glad I made it to the final show. I had a fabulous time. It’s sad knowing there won’t be anymore shows for them.

Metal Nation

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2004

Metal Nation III was most excellent. It took us 13 hours to drive down to North Carolina but it was worth it. My only regrets were that I couldn’t be there for the whole thing and that I didn’t get to meet and more Snakenet folks and spend more time with the ones that I did meet.

Friday night was killer. Shroud of Bereavement opened. For an opening band at a metalfest they had a very good turnout. There were lot’s of folks from New england there to see then play as well as a lot of snakenetters. I enjoyed almost all the bands that played even if I was to drunk to remember any names. I was very impressed with Mortufairy. And as always, I enjoyed seeing Command Presence. I also learned a valuable lesson that night Never ride in car when sarge, the Russian metal motherfucker, is behind the wheel.

Although I wasn’t there for much of Saturday, I enjoyed every minute of the time I was there. Hanging out pool side was fun despite the hangover. The BBQ was Fabulous. They even had something for the vegetarians to eat. We saw a few bands, I had a few beers and then we hit the road. On the way home we stopped off at this place in NC to buy a carton of cigarettes. Everyone inside was smoking, even employees, they even had free samples of cigarettes for us to try. Walking around that store and having a smoke was endless fun for both me and Dan. I wish it was like that everywhere.

I really liked North Carolina, smokes and beer were very inexpensive, which was good for me because I only came down with 30 bucks. Jester’s Pub was most excellent. They had the lowest prices for Guinness I’ve seen anywhere. I wish we had more cool clubs like that in New England.

Over all I had a killer time. It was nice to see my old college friends, listen to metal and party all night. This was my first year going and I hope to do it all again next year.

I Love Dollar Drafts

Saturday, June 12th, 2004

Command Presence is back together again after two years and they played their first show last Wednesday with Shroud of Bereavement. For a Wednesday it was a rather large turn out. It was an excellent show with dollar drafts! And it’s all happening again next Friday in North Carolina.

Bagpipes are so Metal

Sunday, June 6th, 2004

Dan is the best Death Metal singer ever. Only three practices with HAND CHOKE NECK and he did a kick ass job singing. It was a cool show. O’brians back patio rocks, we got to hear some killer bagpipes while we finished up our drinks. I probably shouldn’t have had that last long island ice tea but I wasn’t expecting it to come in a ten gallon glass. Well there it is.

Morbid Angel

Monday, April 19th, 2004

I arrived at the palladium Just after Satyricon finished. I was late as always, at least I had two more bands to look forward to. It was nice to finally see Morbid Angel again, The last time I seen them was at Axis nine or ten years ago when David Vincent was still in the band. I ran into so many people at the show, people I see all the time, people I haven’t seen for years, people I didn’t think existed anymore. It was a killer show my only regret was that I couldn’t have been on time.

\m/ Shroud of Shows \m/

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003

What a metal packed weekend this was. Friday I unfortunately had to miss Slayer for work but Saturday made up for that. Shroud of Bereavement, Spider Gates and Ascendancy Played in Lowell, on Alumni Weekend. I missed alumni weekend in NH but it didn’t matter almost all the cool kids I wanted to see were at the show. It was basically alumni weekend at the Purgatory. The show really packed for a local gig. Kelly crossed over to the other side of the stage and sang at her first metal show. It was so nice to see everyone, especially the FPC kids I hadn’t seen in months. Everyone put on a great show and as usual I drank too much Guinness, Which left me a bit to hungover for Sunday’s 2pm show at the met cafe. I think we were all to beat for that one but a few of us made it out for that one nevertheless. By Monday I was exhausted and slept for 15 hours.
And now it’s back to another dull week.
